Why does a mold test need
an outdoor control sample?
A high indoor spore count on its own means very little. Spores are outside too, and the count moves with the season and the weather.
An outdoor sample may provide context for an indoor sample, but interpretation depends on the sampling design and inspection findings. A comparison alone does not establish a universal safe level or the full remediation scope.
