  1. Stop the source if you can do it safely (water main shutoff, breaker for affected outlets).
  2. Move people, pets, and important contents out of standing water.
  3. Take photos of everything with your phone, they help the insurance file.
  4. Call us. Don’t call your insurance first; let us assess and document, then we both call together.
  5. Don’t start tearing out drywall, that can disqualify scope from your claim and expose you to contaminated water.
